R7.05.01 令和7年4月27日から5月1日にかけて、張教授と稲垣助教が国立成功大学（台南）防災研究センターを訪問しました。訪問中には、Hsiao-Wen Wangセンター長、Yun-Chung Tsang副センター長、Shin-Ping Lee副センター長らとともに、気候変動やTSMCの熊本進出に伴う急速な再開発が熊本都市圏の水・物質循環に与える影響の評価、また、山地・河川・海岸一貫型の土砂管理に基づく自然共生型社会の構築技術の開発に関する意見交換を行い、共同研究を通じた連携の確認も行いました。さらに、南台サイエンスパークおよびその周辺地域の水資源利用状況と防火・防災対策、濁水渓流域における土砂生産の現状、河川における土砂制御対策、そして七股ラグーンを代表とする台南沿岸域の海岸侵食およびその対策に関する現地視察も実施しました。
なお、今回の訪問は熊本大学くまもと水循環・減災研究教育センターと国立成功大学防災研究センターとの令和7年度部局間交流イベントの一環であり、本学からは柿本竜治センター長が団長を務め、田中尚人准教授と石田桂准教授もチームメンバーとして参加していました。

Discussion on joint research Qigu Lagoon and coastal protection
May 1, 2025 From April 27 to May 1, 2025, Prof. Cho and Dr. Inagaki visited the Disaster Prevention Research Center (DPRC) of National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. During their visit, they engaged in discussions with DPRC Director Prof. Hsiao-Wen Wang and Deputy Directors Dr. Yun-Chung Tsang and Dr. Shin-Ping Lee regarding the impacts of climate change and the rapid reurbanization driven by TSMC on the water and substance cycles in the Kumamoto metropolitan area. They also exchanged ideas on developing technologies for constructing a nature-friendly society based on integrated sediment management for mountains, rivers, and coasts, confirming collaboration through joint research. Additionally, they conducted field surveys on water resource utilization and fire prevention and disaster mitigation measures in the Southern Taiwan Science Park and its surrounding areas, the current status of sediment yield in the Zhuoshui River basin, and sediment control measures in rivers, as well as coastal erosion and countermeasures in Tainan's coastal areas, including the Qigu Lagoon.
This visit was part of an academic exchange event between the Center for Water Cycle, Marine Environment and Disaster Management (CWMD) of Kumamoto University and the DPRC of National Cheng Kung University. The visiting team was led by CWMD Director Prof. Ryuji Kakimoto, with Dr. Naoto Tanaka and Dr. Kei Ishida also participating.
